State Sen. Peter Harckham is holding a Black History Month Awards Ceremony at the Croton Free Library, to recognize six residents from across the 40th Senate District in honor of Black History Month. These constituents have each made a significant positive impact in their community.

The honorees are listed below:

  • Ken Sargeant – Co-Director of the Harlem Cultural Archives & Founder of RiverLiver Productions
  • Gwenveria Sargeant – Founding Member and Chairman of the Board of the Fashion & Arts Xchange Group
  • Joyce Sharrock-Cole – Ossining Village Historian
  • Reverend Gary L. Colter – Pastor of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church in Peekskill
  • Jermain Smith & Tamarah Bridgewater – Co-founders of ENU Builds

The ceremony will begin at 10:30am. The public is welcome to attend, and light refreshments will be served.
