Program Description

Event Details

Create a bookmark, have it displayed in the Library, and inspire people to celebrate libraries, books, and the freedom to read!

Artists of all ages & skill levels can pick up a free bookmark-making kit with paints, a paintbrush, and a name card starting Monday, March 16.

When your canvas is complete, return it to the Library by Friday, April 3

Between April 6 and April 30, stop by any time during the Library’s regular hours to vote for your favorites. Winning bookmarks will be professionally printed and available for free at the Library!

The details:

  • The theme of your bookmark should be celebrating libraries, books, and the freedom to read!
  • It can be one-sided or two-sided. You may use the included paints or any kind of art medium, stitching, or other material — as long as it fits on the bookmark. Just don’t cover up your number sticker!
  • Once you’re finished, return your bookmark and don't forget your name card!
  • To be included in the contest, you must bring both pieces back to the main circulation desk in the Library by Friday, April 3.

The fine print:
Please note: You will not get your bookmark back! Submitting your bookmark makes it the property of the Library, which may use your art in promotional materials. The Library cannot guarantee every bookmark will be displayed. Please do not use any copyrighted material in your design.
