Anyone can take what they need, no questions asked & no paperwork.

Anyone can take what they need. No questions asked and no paperwork required.
Anyone can donate food and supplies -- new, unopened, nonperishable items -- during the Library's regular hours.
Any new, unopened, nonperishable food and personal hygiene supplies, plus baby items and pet food.
Please do not donate food you wouldn’t want to eat yourself. No homemade food, open packages, medication, alcohol, or illicit substances. Extra items will be donated to the Croton-Cortlandt Food Pantry.
Here is a complete list of our donation guidelines:
NONPERISHABLE FOODS:
- Canned beans, soups & stews
- Canned tuna, chicken, or salmon
- Nut butters, jelly & honey
- Rice, pasta & pasta sauce
- Boxed macaroni & cheese
- Canned vegetables & fruit
- Boxed milk - regular or plant-based
- Pancake mix & syrup
- Oatmeal & cereal
- Cooking oils - olive, canola, etc.
- Water, juice & non-alcoholic drinks
PROTEIN & MEAL HELPERS:
- Boxed & ready-to-eat meals
- Instant noodles
- Lentils & dried beans
- Canned chili & ravioli
SNACKS & OTHER ITEMS:
- Granola & protein bars
- Crackers
- Trail mix & nuts
- Applesauce
CHILD & PERSONAL CARE:
- Soap, shampoo & deodorant
- Toothpaste & toothbrushes
- Diapers & baby wipes
- Formula
- Pouches & jarred baby food
PET CARE:
- Wet or dry food for dogs or cats

The lobby of the Library's side entrance, closest to the parking lot.
It increases access to food and hygiene supplies, offers an easy site for pickups and donations, supports neighbors in need, and builds stronger community ties.
Every person has the right to food, and no one should go hungry.
Pantries like this one are an example of mutual aid: people voluntarily helping each other and sharing resources. This pantry is stocked solely through donations of community members.

Our Community Pantry is not currently taking cash donations, but please consider donating to the Croton-Cortlandt Food Pantry or Croton Caring.
