We were overjoyed to have succeeded in bringing Julia Glass to our library this year. And the joy she brought with her was palpable! The National Book Award winner, amongst many other accolades, came to discuss her latest book, Vigil Harbor.

Croton Reads held two events this year. To kick it off we started with a satellite event with singer Cris Groenendaal accompanied by his wife Sue Anderson on the piano, performing “Songs of Love”.

R.J. Palacio (2016)

While Croton Reads has been a highlight in town over the last few years, our third annual event was made all the more special by including readers of all ages. We couldn’t have chosen a better book to truly make this a reading experience for the entire village

Michael Cunningham (2015)

We can’t claim that we planned it that way, but we couldn’t have asked for a more perfectly themed setting for Croton Reads 2015. Freshly falling snow covered the village as readers crowded into the Ottinger Room on March 1 to meet The Snow Queen author Michael Cunningham.

Colum McCann (2014)

The inaugural Croton Reads event was held on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Croton Free Library with almost 150 people in attendance. TransAtlantic, written by Colum McCann, was the 2014 Croton Reads book selection. Colum is the author of six novels and two collections of stories.
