Artist’s Statement
Before After Between is about what shifts and what fades. Memory distorts, identity changes, and time erases as much as it reshapes. Each portrait reflects transformation, history, and the traces we leave behind. Like old photographs with uncertain origins, these figures are meant to feel both familiar and distant.
Each piece is a one-of-a-kind archival transfer on birch plywood, giving the images a tactile quality that echoes the themes of impermanence and transformation. Using collage and drawing, this
series looks at the space between who we were and who we are, and the inevitable loss that comes with change.
