 Tarrytown was the site of an event that altered the outcome of the Revolut
 ionary War: the capture of British spy Major John André. Almost immediate
 ly, fabrications and fake news sprang up to challenge the facts of the eve
 nt. This presentation will cover the astounding true story of the capture 
 as well as examine many myths and inaccuracies that persist in popular ima
 gination through today.\r\nChar Weigel is VP for Special Projects for Revo
 lutionary Westchester 250. Formerly chair of the History and Interdiscipli
 nary Departments at The Shipley School and on the board of the Historical
