Living Planet with Magpie
Bring the family to hear acclaimed instrumentalists and vocalists Terry Leonino and Greg Artzner. The Magpie duo has toured internationally, performing and educating together for over three decades. Come celebrate the complex web of life forms that populate the earth – from whales to wolves, magpies to macaws. Learn about the teeming oceans and the frozen tundra, and how we can help to preserve the earth. Friday, November 14, 7:30 p.m.

Art with Quincy
Express yourself by making unique paper sculptures inspired by Van Gogh's colorful sunflowers. Quincy Egginton, artist and educator, leads an art workshop for grades 3 and up. Register by calling (914-271-6612) or visiting the Croton Free Library. Note change of class topic: Van Gogh (rather than Locker) workshop will be Saturday, November 15, 2:00 p.m.
MUSIC / November 21
Sing for Your Supper
Sopranos Terry Rakov, Catherine Campbell Nesbit and Julie Majchrzyk present Sing for your Supper--a Smorgasbord of Song. This highly entertaining and musical trio combines diverse talents in various styles from art song to Broadway, from standards to opera. The program includes the songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Jerome Kern, and Stephen Sondheim, as well as the music of Rossini and Puccini. Sue Anderson, pianist, accompanies. Friday, November 21, 7:30 p.m.

BROADWAY & CABARET SHOWCASE/ December 6
Sign-Up Immediately to Perform
Calling all serious singers – seasoned performers and aspiring voice students, alike. Give us a song! Cris Groenendaal (who starred as the Phantom of the Opera on Broadway) hosts the Broadway & Cabaret Showcase at the Croton Free Library. Sue Anderson, musical director for several Broadway shows, will accompany Cris and all other performers. Come as an audience member or register as a participant. Singers sign up to give a concert-quality performance of one or two well-prepared songs in the Broadway or cabaret genres. December 6, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. run-through, 7:30 concert (free and open to the public).
MUSIC/ December 7
Klezmer!
Celebrate the season with the joyous music of the Westchester Klezmer Program. This intergenerational group, which performs the style of Eastern European folk and dance music known as klezmer, is the largest program of its kind in the country. Under the lively direction of Kenny Green and instruction of Croton resident Matty Mozzor, the musicians (from youngsters to elders) offer a crowd-pleasing, rollicking good time. SILENT FILM/ December 10
Harold Lloyd, Comedic Classic, and Jesse Beller, Pianist
Join us for an evening starring comic genius Harold Lloyd in his silent film classic Safety Last. Pianist Jesse Beller provides live, original accompaniment – with extraordinary style and flair. Wednesday, December 10, 7:30 p.m.
CRAFT WORKSHOP/ December 13
Holiday Wreaths with Margaret von der Meden
Participants design a centerpiece to take home, working with various evergreens. Environmental educator Margaret von der Meden demonstrates how to create a range of natural decorations for the home. Bring a favorite flowerpot if you have one, otherwise just shears and gloves. Adults and teens; registration required. Saturday, December 13, 2:00 p.m.
CHILDREN/ December 14
Theater and Improv Workshop
Children in grades 3 and 4 perform their original one-act play devised during grade school workshops. Following the young actors’ performance, actress and teacher Denise Bessette (co-founder of the Hudson Stage Company) invites any willing audience members to participate in some improv theater games and a Q&A about the process of collaboration. All are welcome to attend and participate. Ideal for children ages 6 to 13. Sunday, December 14, 2:00 p.m.
